The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Awards recognize businesses and nonprofits that demonstrate high ethics and exceptional standards in their practices. The awards honor organizations that exemplify the BBB's mission to promote trust in the marketplace.
The Torch Awards recognize organizations that:
- Have leaders who demonstrate high personal character
- Ensure that their practices meet the highest standards of ethics
- Generate trust with their customers and the community
To be eligible for the Torch Awards, organizations must:
- Be BBB accredited
- Have been in business for at least three years
- Not have won the Torch Awards in the past three years
- Not have a current ad review or investigation
The Torch Awards are evaluated by an independent panel of judges made up of business and community leaders. The judges evaluate submissions based on four criteria:
- The character of the organization's leadership
- How well the organization fosters an authentic culture
- The company's transparent relationship with its customers
- The impact the organization is making in the local community
